New Community Choir
Date:
08/05/2010 - 31/01/2011
Venue: Churchfields School
Come & join the Churchfields Community Choir
We have no auditions or age restrictions & ability to read music is not necessary - we learn by ear & the atmosphere is very relaxed. The group has a wonderful energy & spirit & meet purely to enjoy singing together.
Our repertoire is varied - from Beatles, Tamla Motown, mysterious Russian songs to African chants & Forties swing.
As well as meeting under the leadership of our mentor, Mr Steve Flavin, the choir comes together to celebrate seasonal festivals in special place, sharing songs with friends, family and beyond.
Singers range from those who have sung in more formal choirs, but relish the spontaneity & sheer fun of singing in this different way, to those who have never sung before.
Singing is fun & singing is good for you. Singers regularly report the benefits to their health. After the stress & frustrations of daily life, many leave the sessions energised & full of renewed vigour.

SWINDON FIT4LESS
Date:
04/07/2009 - 04/07/2015
Venue: Fit4less, Swindon
Swindon will be the first destination to launch a new national chain of budget health and fitness gyms, called Fit4less.
Set to officially open on Saturday 4th July, the no contract, no joining fee and ‘no frills’ club will be one of 10 due to open by the end of this year (20 by the end of 2010) under parent company, the énergie Group – the fastest growing fitness club brand in the UK.
The £16.99 all-in monthly fee offers the quality, professionalism and high standards that mainstream fitness clubs offer but removes the, often rarely used, ‘pamper’ facilities.
Fit4less gyms will feature state-of-the-art equipment, spacious studio areas, clean and modern changing facilities; but will not include spas, steam rooms, saunas and such Health Club facilities. Fitness classes and personal training will be available at all Fit4less clubs but, similar to budget airlines, they come as an extra cost.
“This is the ideal concept for anyone who likes to work out, get in shape, shower and leave,” says general manager Ben Palmer. “A majority of people that are members of a health club never use the pool or spa but continue to pay high prices. Fit4less can save people hundreds of pounds a year. It is still a professional gym and we demand high quality and high standards throughout but all the frills and ‘extras’ have been removed to keep our own costs to a minimum, which allows us to pass this on to the customer.”
Part of the day-to-day cost cutting is achieved through an online membership administration service, which allows new members to join and pay monthly through a secure website (people without internet facilities can book an appointment with staff at the club itself). Additionally, no member will receive a membership card. Access to the gym is by a biometric fingerprint identification system that is the first to be introduced in a UK gym.
Swindon has already received 250 new memberships and is receiving huge numbers of new enquiries a week. Ben adds: “The response has been phenomenal and the same question is asked from each person; ‘does that price really include everything?’, which we are delighted to say yes to.
“We had a member that used the gym before it was Fit4less who was paying over £35 per month and now he is getting the same facilities and better service for almost half the price.”
Fit4less is part of a group of ex-Fitness First gym bought by the énergie Group and now adds to the énergie Fitness portfolio of 80 franchised clubs in the UK and abroad. The second Fit4less club will be in Inverness, Scotland, which will open in September ‘09 followed by four more sites in North London.
Chief executive at the énergie Group, Jan Spaticchia said: “This is a very exciting concept that we believe will do well in this current economic climate. We are looking to introduce Fit4less in multiple towns and cities in Britain through our successful franchise support scheme, which empowers people to own their own business and be their own boss.”
Fit4less, Swindon will launch on Saturday 4th July and will include an open weekend of entertainment and fun for everyone. For more details about the club, call Ben Palmer or his team on 01793 421616 or visit www.energiegroup.co.uk.
